Latin Liz asked Sully about the play and how she choose the part. Sully quickly replied that she felt that La Lupe had chosen her for the part. She felt drawn to this play and her electrifying performance shows her tremendous dedication to the part, to the life of La Lupe and to her art as an actress. Sully's performance put to life for me the life and trials of this legendary and often controversial performer. The story and Sully Diaz's performance put a tear in my eye. Liz used to play La Lupe at home. I didn't care for her very much, but now, after this experience, I have a new understanding and appreciation for the woman known as La Lupe.
